The CHASING THE LION manuscript became complete today, Independence Day 2011 at 6:31 p.m. Central Time at 110,457 words. It feels a lot like how I imagine becoming a mother must be like.
I've already texted and spoken with my friends and family, sharing my happy news and celebrating.
I'm so blessed that God allowed me to not only write this book, but to finish it on the day that I had made my goal. The road to publication is a long one, so the manuscript is still a ways from the shelves of the bookstore, but today was a huge milestone and I'm just so excited to have achieved my goals.
This is the closest I can get to baby pictures =)
Above is my cork board near the desk with my time lines, most important research notes, one liners I wanted to be sure to include, important scriptures, historical references and maps, and my visual age progression of my hero.
Yes, I write on the walls. It's just easier and I get to be a kid again.
I also became the proud owner of a Barnes & Noble nook E-Reader this week. (Thank you so much!) I still prefer my books to be... well... books, but I gotta tell ya, I'm not hating the nook =)
Change isn't always bad. Or what you thought it would be, or not be.
A dear friend asked me tonight what could the new prayer be for my book. (Thank you!) It's this... that I can polish it up to be the very best it can be and find the right agent who will steward it as well as I have tried to. So that God can use it in people's lives the way Redeeming Love was used in mine, and in a real and powerful way define God's truths while entertaining readers.
Now, to get to sleep at a descent hour for a change.
The joys of being a writer.
