Where is the new hero?

He's coming. And trust me, he is MORE than worth the wait. He is late for two reasons.
  1. Nancy Kimball was buried in a full-throttle edit of one of her own novels. (As documented on her Facebook Page)
  2. His feature required a slew more permissions and more time to secure them than usual for reasons I can't yet explain. (Permissions and legality has always been and will always be important to me. Not only because I am an author, but because it is the right thing to do.)

So how am I making it up to you? With a GIVEAWAY!

Sorry, he is not the giveaway. But I spent a lot on that image for one of my earlier writer projects and I like to pull it out now and then just because and this seemed as good a time as any. He has a very good story I hope to get to tell you one day. ;-)

Leave a comment below with who YOU think the June 1st Fiction Hero is

including your e-mail address in a spam-fighting format like thesuspenseiskillingme (at) excusesexcuses (dot) com or be sure your profile lets me look up your e-mail so I can find you.

Every person who comments will be entered into a drawing for the BOOK OF THEIR CHOICE from this year's heroes. Click the Hero Roster and anything down to and including Unlikely Praise is eligible in the winner's choice of format (print or e-book).

BONUS: Every commenter that correctly guesses the identity of the June 1st hero will receive an extra entry into his drawing. It is seriously good and includes, as of now, the hero's novel, a tie-in DVD, a special keepsake item and a piece of jewelry. You will be really glad for that extra entry if you guess the hero correctly. Put the hero's name and his novel in your comment and you can guess up to five heroes. Winner will be announced on June 1st when the new mystery hero posts. You won't want to miss it!

I think the biggest release recently has been Julie Lessman's Love at any Cost. I think the main character is Jamie... not sure if he is heroic or not. I have the book but haven't read it yet!

Oh man can't he be the giveaway!? LOL!!! Just kidding the giveaway is awesome!

Oh this is harder than I thought. The character I'm reading about now has a cool description, but I'm unsure if it's him...I think instead I guess Lincoln Cole from When Love Calls? I was going to guess Landon from Shattered but you've already written a post on him so that means he's out of the running for this right? LOL!

Thanks for the fun of entering! :)

It's got a pretty cover and Julie sure knows how to write a great hero. Could be him! Thank you for playing!

Nancy Kimball said...

Marissa understands what we're about here, love it. Those are all good guesses. Could be one of them! Thank you for playing.

Nancy Kimball said...

Welcome to my world, Joy, hehe. Too many great heroes, not enough time to read them (and still write and work a day job.) But I try!!! It's why I count on you guys so much too. That's a good guess. Could be him! Thank you for playing.

Nancy Kimball said...

Haha. I know, right? Anyway, you are correct. We've already featured Landon so he's out of the running but Lincoln Cole is a good guess. Could be him! Thank you for playing and if you think of four more, come back. =) And thanks for joining the FB crew. So fun to get to know other book lovers with good taste in heroes there.

Nancy Kimball said...

Abbi you crack me up, my friend. =) You might have missed the part where I said five guesses so to be fair I'll count your first five. They are good guesses and it could be any one of them!

(And for others who might not know this about Abbi, she is a VORACIOUS reader and reads lots and lots of books. I know this from her blog. ;-)

Abbi Hart said...

Haha yeah I did miss that! So sorry!

Eliahba from Elihaba by Cliff Graham He's an author you haven't featured, so my guess is that he was harder to catch.

To add a few more I'll go with two more authors you haven't featured:
Dane from Talon by Ronie Kendig
Bo Porter from Undeniably Yours by Becky Wade

And two more to make it 5. I picked these two b/c they're a couple of my favorite authors. However, I'm thinking long shots since you've featured these authors
Jamie McKenna from Love at Any Cost by Julie Lessman
Charlie Clarke from Unrivaled by Siri Mitchell

REALLY FUN! :)) So I'm thinking..
Bo from Undeniably Yours by Becky Wade (hopefully! I heard that he's a good one.)
Jamie McKenna from Love at Any Cost by Julie Lessman

Bane from Against The Tide by Elizabeth Camden

Sorry if it looks like I'm copying your guesses, Marissa. I really am thinking it might be these heroes... ESPECIALLY Bo, who was the first name that popped in my mind when I saw the pic...

Thank you, Nancy! What a fun thing to wake up to.

Best wishes for the editing of your novel.

I don't think anyone thinks you're copying, but that's sweet of you to say so. This turned out to be fun, and a great way to turn a failure on my part into something positive. You guys are the best and those are good guesses! Might be one of them. =)

Nancy Kimball said...

So Nancy, it has to be a book that releases on June 1st? Some of these have already released. I was ready to say that hunk at the top of the page looked like a marvelous gift package. LOL Love to read what you have to say about all of the Heros.. Haven't been here in a while. Say, Nancy. We are neighbors. I live next door to Houston, in Pasadena. (East side). Hard to pick from all of these great guys! Maxie mac262(at)me(dot)com

Amada Chavez said...

Since Maxie's comment makes sense I'm gonna guess a couple of heros from books, I want to read and sound good, that come out in June, just in case! LOL!!! maybe Tavin MacLachlan from The Quarryman's Bride?

Anonymous said...

I like Ridley Cooper is quite a hunk for a Hero. Tamera Alexander knows how to pick them. WOW! Maxie mac262(at)me(dot)com

Amada Chavez said...

And since Stealing the Preacher sounds good to me and I've been wanting to read it I'll go ahead and make my last guess Crockett Archer! Could be maybe? :D

Now I can't wait to see who it really is!!! LOL! June first come quick!!!!

Nancy Kimball said...

No, June 1st is only the date of the post. (Unless God forbid the last hurdle we're waiting to clear isn't cleared. In which case... I might just have to go without it. We'll see!)

And yeah he does, hehe. Thank you and yes, we've missed you. Glad to see you back and hope all is well. Oh! Pasa-get-down-dena! Love it!!! You should totally come visit our writer's group that meets in the Woodlands. =)

Nancy Kimball said...

YES HE WAS! Actually we've featured him. Love me some Ridley. He's in the roster of proud FHF heroes. See, you have excellent hero taste!

Nancy Kimball said...

Those are all good guesses! Might be one of them! =)

Nicky Fiorini from Yesterday's Stardust by Becky Melby
Jamie from The Secret Keeper by Sandra Byrd (be still, my heart..... )
Col. Cassius McLinn from The Colonel's Lady by Laura Frantz
