Joy and Nancy here! Has it been a year already? Crazy.
We'd like to continue our December tradition and close 2013 with a hero-girl selected HERO OF THE YEAR from among those featured here at FHF.

Without its amazing fans and supporters, FHF would just be another blog out there in cyberspace. We've had the privilege of getting to know quite a few of you but would like to get to know even more about my fellow hero-addicts. After you vote, please leave a comment with pretend e-mail addresses for any (or as many as you can) of our featured heroes this year. It should be something that helps us identify him because the three best ones will be chosen by Joy and I and the winners will receive the book of their choice from any hero featured this year. (If you need help or hints check the giveaway section of any hero feature.)
Winners will be announced together with the FHF Hero of the Year on December 15th. Authors of featured heroes are eligible to participate! As always, if you are not a blog follower with your e-mail address in your profile, please leave your e-mail address in an anti-spammer format like how.am.i.supposed.to.pick.just.one (at) FHF2013 (dotcom)

Because we're all about sharing the hero love. =D
AHHH!!! This is impossible!! I love so many of these hero's and I got my list down to 8 but I'm stuck!!! I don't know if I can pick one! Headed to bed but I will be back to vote and make up some fake emails!
ReplyDeleteAbbi, we hear you! I was talking to Nancy around June of this year about how ridiculous the roster was this time around. "It's only been half a year and I couldn't pick a hero from THIS group. We still have 6 months!"
DeleteI don't think we are really sorry about it, though. I'm super thankful we have such an awesome list of heroes! :D And I really wish I were allowed to vote!
Difficult? Sure. For me, it came down to Ridley Cooper, Eli Ernest, and Silas Ballantyne. :D
ReplyDeleteroad_to_avonlea_17(at)yahoo(dot)com
Yes, my historical novel lover, haha. =)
DeleteGage_adventurers@lastadventurefrontier.com
ReplyDeleteIt was hard to decide, but the clincher was his enduring love for the child he lost.
Katrina
Katrina, great job and I KNOW! That little tattoo by his heart still gets me every time.
DeleteYou do realize that you didn't make this easy, right! ;) Seriously, I've enjoyed reading each of the hero profiles this year. There have been so many awesome heroes, some of whose stories I ended up reading because of FHF. I look forward to each new post as it comes out! Nancy and Joy, you both make this a fun blog to come to every couple of weeks. Looking forward to what you have in store for 2014. Hugs to you both and Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteHere's my attempt at a pretend e-mail:
ballantyne_metalworks(at)silas'legacy(dot)com
And here's my real e-mail addey:
bookwarp(at)gmail(dot)com
Oh, that one is good too! I can't wait to see what you guys come up with. =) We love having your support and we love what we do here. It wouldn't be nearly as much fun without getting to share it with you guys... I mean, hero-girls. =D
DeleteThanks so much, Angi. You gals are the reason Nancy and I do what we do! This blog wouldn't be worth writing if it weren't for all of you! Hugs & a Merry Christmas to you, also.
DeleteHere's mine for Landon Grainger:
ReplyDeletedeputygrainger(at)yancypd(dot)com
My other total fave of the year was Briggs and I have two suggestions:
the_hottie_who_lives_above_your_garage(at)dfd(dot)com
manny_knows_best(at)dfd(dot)com
Oh, hey, was I supposed to put my own email here:
Deleteweber(dot)jennie(at)gmail(dot)com
THOSE. Are. FANtastic. =D
DeleteWe contemplated Briggs-ing the survey monkey poll. ;) Don't worry- we didn't do it. I don't think....Nancy- what are you doing over there? (Just a sec......)
DeleteYou do realize that this list is impossible? Carl, Silas, Landon, Gage, Tom, Quillan, Ian, King Nathaniel... How can I narrow it down to just one?!
ReplyDeletedawn(dot)janis(at)gmail(dot)com
Sorry, no attempts at a pretend email for the heroes. Can't decide....
LOL. According to the responses pouring into survey monkey, it is not impossible. I will give you extremely difficult to the Nth power though. It's a good problem. ;-)
DeleteDon't forget Bane.....and Carl......and Briggs...... *sigh*
DeleteFor me this was easy. Gage@lastadventurefrontiers.com
ReplyDeleteThose tiny feet tattooed on his chest and his love for his son equal my kind of hero.
Yeah that tattoo still gets me. I can see it perfectly in my mind every time I think about it and when he touched them, I was totally melting.
Deleteyancyfinestdeputy@yancypd.com for Landon
ReplyDeleteadventurersgage@lastadventuresfrontiers.com for Gage
Dani Pettrey fan are you? hehe. You're definitely among friends. I'm actually wearing my Team McKenna jersey right now as I type this! =)
DeleteOh. My. Gosh! This is torture!!! LOL! :D But seriously, Bane, Eli, Gage, Ian, Landon? I managed to narrow it down to just one but I want all the other heroes to know that even though I didn't vote for them, they are all my favorites and they all own this book lover's heart equally! ;D
ReplyDeleteFake email for Gage: grillingwithstyle(at)lastfrontieradventures(dot)com
Fake email for Ian: ironchef(at)mckaydevelepment(dot)com
Fake email for Landon: strongenough(at)yanceyalaska(dot)gov
Fake email for Bane: baneoflydiasexistence(at)futuremail(dot)com
This was so much fun to do!!!!
My real email address: dressagegirl1991(at)wmconnect(dot)com
Caitlyn, you clearly understand what we were going for here. Well done! =)
DeleteOh this is so much fun! You girls are AWESOME. :) Love your enthusiasm and equal agony over the choice! The email adds are classic! Keep them coming!
ReplyDeleteAren't they doing great??? =)
DeleteIt makes me kind of want to jump in and play too haha.
I'm blown away at what they're coming up with. I guess it's only fair since we're making them choose one hero to vote for that we will have to pick winners from these great emails.
Voting was semi-easy for me since I've read only 3 books on the list!! I'm not a terribly creative person so here's the one I came up with for Silas: inlovewitharedhairedlass(at)thesmithys(dot)com
ReplyDeleteMy email: marissamehresman(at)aol(dot)com
Marissa, that's good. I know exactly who that is. =)
DeleteOk here are my attempts at some fave emails!
ReplyDeleteEli- godsmissionary(at)westward(dot)com
Gage- tuckersdaddy(at)lastfrontieradventures(dot)com
Nathaniel- susannasking(at)brighton(dot)com
Landon- alaskansheriff(at)yanceysd(dot)com
Silas- ironviolinist(at)blacksmith(dot)com
Lucas- mrwrightforkate(at)nantucket(dot)com
Mine- gatorade635(at)gmail(dot)com
Abbi you rockstar! LOVE ironviolinist!!! You guys are blowing me and Joy away.
DeleteGreat job!
Mine was easy too, I fell in love with the character "Bane" in Against the Tide". there are some nice ones here and can see where others would have problem choosing..
ReplyDeletePaula O(kyflo130@yahoo.com)
Paula, I do believe Bane might be my pick, too. But then I start thinking about Briggs, and Rourke, and Ian......and I can't decide. :)
DeleteOh my goodness that was HARD! I love your blog, Nancy & Joy. Can't wait to hear who the winner is.... :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the love, Stacey. We love our hero girls, too. :) Nancy and I are having fun watching the votes come in. :) You know it's a tough choice when both Nancy and I would have to flip a coin to choose a hero. :)
DeleteI think I've only read for of these, so I will pick from those I have read. My choice would be Nate from once upon a Prince. I don't read a lot of contemporary fiction, but really enjoyed this one.
ReplyDeletee-mail : kingnathaniel(at)brighton(dot)gov
Patty
pattymh2000(at)yahoo(dot)com
King Nathaniel is a great choice, Patty! Love the email address!
DeleteThis was hard but I ended up choosing Carl from A Noble Groom!
ReplyDeleteEmails:
Carl Richards- richestoragsandback(at)escape(dot)com
Dr. Eli Ernest- mywestwardjourney(at)godsultimatechoice(dot)com
Silas Ballantyne- theheartsblacksmith(at)eden(dot)com
Henry Weston- whodidithenry(at)cliff-topmanor(dot)com
My email- purplefreak13(at)live(dot)com
Those are great entries, Salyna! I love the email for Henry Weston. :) Great job.
DeleteEasy for me since With Every Letter is the only one I've read (Haven't had time to read any of these other ones YET). So I vote for Tom MacGilliver.
ReplyDeleteWhy aren't there any emails for him yet? lt(dot)tom(at)buildiingbridges(dot)com
That's adorable - and so appropriate :) I'm glad you like Tom!
DeleteI love Tom too Anna! I just could not think of an email for some reason! Nice job!
DeleteLove it, Anna! Tom is such a great hero, too.
DeleteRidley Cooper from To Whisper her name Charmed me but i fell in Love with Silas From Loves Reckoning. To me he embodies the definition of "MAN"..
ReplyDeleteLots of love for Silas here! He reminded me quite a bit of Michael Hosea when I read the book. :) Thanks for voting, Rhoda.
DeleteMy email is onesugarose (at) hotmail(dot)com.
DeleteAnd my made up:
Fynelikesilas@inmydreams.com
Also found Christian Lavonne and Garr Wulfrith very heroic!
ReplyDeleteThat's why we have a Hero Nomination button! Nancy and I keep on the lookout, but we can't catch them all. We love it when our readers find a new hero for us. :)
DeleteI find it most difficult to make this selection and fear that toes will be stepped upon, feelings hurt, and egos busted. But let's go with
ReplyDeleteS.B.@Marner.incorporated.com
Hi Vera, as an author myself every one on this blog is a colleague so believe me I understand that concern. But I grew up in an age of try-outs for sports team and chair tests in band class and there is no way to recognize excellence without there being some who don't "win". But like American Idol, being featured is the win, so we trust our authors who participate to know it's in good fun and appreciation of their men, every last one of those orange-head darlings. =)
DeleteWow...that was torturous to choose between Silas and Carl...both my faves!
ReplyDeleteBeth
Follow my lead, Beth, and flip a coin! :)
DeleteI chose Landon. Yes, he has his issues but he owns them. Of course, I love Gage and those little footprints... And let's not forget Bane...
ReplyDeleteMy email is:
Carolmesarchik@gmail.com
I'm so proud of all of you who are owning your choice for hero. :) It just goes to show how books connect with all of us differently. :) Thanks for the vote, Carol.
DeleteMy vote is for Landon Grainger - DepLG@pd.yancy.ak.us
ReplyDeleteReal email is pumpkinbabyjane(at)gmail(dot)com
Two Landon's in a row! :) He must have something special. :)
DeleteAh! It's so hard! The survey had to decide for me - I selected Alex Banbridge, then tried to change it and it wouldn't let me, so Bane it is! :)
ReplyDeleteUmm, they didn't have email in his day, so do I still need to make one up for him? Anyway, lets see . . .hmm . . . how 'bout abane@oldtimeletters.org ? I know, it's really bad, but that's all I can come up with. :)
Sarah
Oh, and my email is booklover1492[at]rocketmail[dot]com, just in case you need it. :)
Any vote for Bane is a good vote as far as I'm concerned. :) Sorry about the survey hiccup, though. Your email addy is great. Thanks for voting!
DeleteWhat a fun way to do this! Enjoying reading all the creative email adds.
ReplyDeleteI vote for SILAS! A worthy hero, for sure. If you want to contact him, might I suggest:
iron-willedironworker@the forge.com
Thanks for this, gals! Mary Kay
markay4given (at) sbcglobal (dot) net
Hey Mary Kay! Love your email addy for Silas! Thanks for leaving a comment! :)
DeleteNancy's popping in to say boy do I love the enthusiasm (and agony in picking just one, trust me, I know, haha). But for the record, you vote with the survey. Voting in the comments doesn't count and the emails can be from any of the books you've read, not just your favorite.
ReplyDeleteWe're keeping it fun and having a good time. =)
Oh my!!! This is too hard. There have been so many great ones. Silas would get my vote.
ReplyDeletemauback55 at gmail dot com
Silas is quite a hero. :) I'm glad you came by to vote, Melanie! :)
DeleteWhat fun!! I wonder if I can embed subliminal (Rourke) messages inside my text (Rourke) to try and get people to vote (Rourke) for my hero??? Hmm... :-)
ReplyDeleteWow, Elizabeth. You are SO subtle! Lol Rourke has a special place in my heart- he was my first feature & I will always remember that. :)
DeleteTry it! =) Great to see you stop by, Elizabeth.
DeleteOh yes, please use the SURVEY to vote.....we want everyone's vote to count & I'd hate to miss some because they were only put in the comments.
ReplyDeleteOh, and by the way- this post officially marks my One Year anniversary of being a follower of Nancy's blog. :) I discovered FHF this time last year, when Karen Witemeyer shared that her Levi Grant and Travis Archer were duking it out over here. I had to let my voice be heard. :)
Congrats Joy! It's a fun place, eh? :)
DeleteThere were so many wonderful heroes on here! It was a very hard choice.
ReplyDeleteHere are a few email addresses:
